New "Ask Dave" Feature
Q - Is the Patriot League thinking of adding another team for football to give the league a total of eight teams? A - "We have talked extensively over the last few years about adding 1-2 football playing schools to the league for competitive and scheduling reasons. It is a delicate situation deciding who might be interested. The interest varies and the fact that we are still a non-scholarship league deters some from being interested." Q - How about concession stands at Van Doren field during soccer games? Most Division I schools have them.
A – “We have wanted to have concessions at both women’s and men’s soccer games this past season but could not find a vendor that was willing to take it on. We plan to have further discussions with some possible vendors.”
Q - Is there any talk of Bucknell and or Holy Cross moving to another Division 1 league in the near future? They continue to dominate the men’s basketball standings year-after-year. It’s tough to compete with them year-after-year. I believe Colgate has the right guy for the job in Coach Davis. Hopefully the ladies program can turn the corner also. Good Luck gate.
A – “I believe that both Holy Cross and Bucknell are committed to the Patriot League in basketball and all of their sports. It is up to the rest of us to improve our level of competitiveness and make the league stronger from top to bottom.”
