HAMILTON, N.Y. (11/18/04) – The #21 ranked Colgate football team (8-2 overall, 4-0 Patriot League) will play host to the Holy Cross Crusaders (7-3, PL 5-0) on Saturday in a battle for the Patriot League Championship at Andy Kerr Stadium. Kickoff is 1:06 p.m.
The winner of Saturday's game takes the 2008 title and receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. The NCAA Selection Show is Sunday night, 7-7:30 p.m., on ESPNU.
The Raiders, who are seeking their sixth Patriot League title under head coach Dick Biddle, have won seven straight, while Holy Cross has a six-game winning streak.
The game also is Youth/Team Day & "Take a Kid to the Game." All kids eighth grade and under get in free, and all high school teams with/without football jersey, get in free (must sign in and have some form of ID). This is the 71st meeting between Colgate and Holy Cross with the Crusaders leading the overall series, 37-28-5. Last season, Holy Cross snapped a six-game losing streak to the Raiders with a 27-20 win at Fitton Field. The Crusaders are 13-11-3 on Colgate's home field, but have dropped the last three at Andy Kerr Stadium.
