Fourth Place Finish for Men's Varsity Four

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (10/26/09) – The Colgate University men's rowing team competed at the Head of the Fish on Sunday, Oct. 25 on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs N.Y.
The Raiders finished fourth in the men's varsity 4 with a time of 12:40.27. They were behind third-place Williams B by 5 hundredths of a second. WPI and Williams B took first and second place with times of 12:09.89 and 12:38.37, respectively. The Colgate crew consisted of May Bayer (coxswain), James Clinton (stroke), Sam Walker (3-seat), Marc Cassone (2-seat), and Matthew Woodrow (bow). The men’s B team also competed in this race and finished in 7th place with a time of 12:54.94. Grace Goodwin (coxswain), Robbie Bickhart (stroke), Bryan Ferguson (2-seat), Owen Myers (3-seat), and Kenley Unruh (bow) were on this boat.
The men also raced in the novice 8 and finished in 7th place out of 27 teams with a time of 12:05.67. The crew of this boat consisted of Ronnie Iazzetti (coxswain), Fred Petty (stroke), Pierre Gross (7-seat), Bryan Ferguson (6-seat), Stephen Dickinson (5-seat), Wiggs Civitillo (4-seat), Owen Myers (3-seat), Stephen Reichheld (2-seat), Alex Grieve (bow). The top three places went to Syracuse A, Hobart A and Williams with times of 10:58.15, 11:24.94 and 11:32.76, respectively.
The raiders will return to the water on Halloween, October 31st at Syracuse Invitational in Syracuse, NY.
