Men's Cross Country Release #4: Raiders Travel to Hamilton Invitational

The Colgate University men's cross-country team travels to the Hamilton Invitational Saturday, Oct. 10. The men’s race is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.

LAST OUTING
The Raiders took 22nd as a team at the Paul Short Run. Junior Ed Sheridan led the team in the brown race, finishing 34th overall with a personal-best time of 25:50.
Freshman Chris Johnson finished second on the team with a time of 25:56, while juniors Dan Gleason, Bryan Crowley, and Grant Stauffer rounded out the Raiders with times of 26:40, 26:42 and 27:12, respectively.

THE ART GALLERY
With more than two decades of coaching experience, Art McKinnon is one of the most knowledgeable track and field mentors in the Patriot League and the northeast. Now in his 22nd year as the head coach of the Colgate University men's cross country and track and field programs, McKinnon has coached the Raiders to two Patriot League team championships, and has guided 37 student-athletes to individual league crowns.
In 2001, McKinnon guided the cross-country team to victory at the IC4A Championship, and the Raiders finished second in 2002. In 2007, Colgate placed third behind the University of New Hampshire and Syracuse University at the IC4A Championship.
In 1994, McKinnon coached Colgate through an undefeated, 8-0 season - the best record since the 1962 season - and in 1995, his team set the school standard for wins in a season with a 10-7 record.
