Koroshetz Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

CENTER VALLEY, PA. Colgate women’s soccer player, Kiki Koroshetz (Norwalk, Conn.) was named one-of-six Patriot League soccer players to be selected to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District team, it was announced on Oct. 29.
 
Koroshetz, a defender for the Raiders has maintained a 3.91 GPA in English throughout her time at Colgate, earning the Dean’s Award and making the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll last spring. The junior, who has played in 12 games this season, was named to the District 1 Third Team, returning to the squad after battling Ewing’s Sarcoma cancer.
 
Along with being co-captain of the Raiders team, Koroshetz is also the vice president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee that promotes positive advocacy for Colgate athletics and explores and solves issues within the athletic and Colgate communities that affect student-athletes.
 
Koroshetz, along with her teammates, volunteer their time to read at the Hamilton Central Elementary school, helping the youth of the Hamilton community. 
 
Army and Navy each had two student-athletes apiece be named to the team, and Bucknell rounded out the honorees with one.
 
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA. All nominated athletes must also have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s games.
