HAMILTON, N.Y. (12/11/09) - Two members of the Colgate men’s soccer team were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas all-Mid-Atlantic Team on Thursday. Senior forward Alex Weekes (Stroudsburg, Pa.) and junior defender Jeff Leach (New Canaan, Conn.) each earned second team honors.
Weekes led the Raiders in scoring this season with 18 points off of seven goals and four assists. It is his second consecutive selection to an All-Regional team, after being chosen to the first team in 2008. Weekes was also selected to the Herrmann Trophy Watch List earlier this season as well as receiving First Team All-Patriot League honors.
Leach makes his first appearance on the All-Regional team since starting at Colgate during his sophomore season. He tallied two goals and four assists this season and was named to the All-Patriot League team for the second straight season.
Twelve student-athletes from five Patriot League schools were named to the NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Team, led by Bucknell with four selections, followed by Colgate, Lehigh, Lafayette and American with two selections each.
