Men's Track and Field Finishes Third at Navy Quad

ANNAPOLIS
, Md. (3/28/09)—Junior Phil Natoli (Fayetteville, N.Y.) won the 400-meter hurdles to lead the Colgate University men’s track and field team to a third-place finish, 63 points, at the Navy Quad Saturday afternoon. 

Natoli turned in a time of 54.92 in the 400-meter hurdles, just 0.27 away from his personal-best, which he set last season at the Patriot League Championships. His time is second in the Patriot League this season.
 
Senior Mike Walden (Oak Park, Ill.) also posted a good showing for Colgate in the 200-meter dash. Walden placed-third with a 22.80, which sits fifth in the Patriot League this season.
 
In the 400-meter dash freshman Graham Tooker (Devon, Pa.) took sixth-place with a time of 50.77, while sophomore Dan Schwaibold (Atlanta, Ga.) finished 10th with a time of 51.24.
 
In the 800-meter run freshman Tim Metivier (Tonawanda, N.Y.) finished seventh 1:55.80 and sophomore Jonathan Knowlton (North Salem, N.Y.) ninth 1:56.39.
 
In the relays, Colgate finished third in the 4x100 with a time of 44.49 and fourth in the 4x400 relay 3:29.33. The 4x100 team’s effort is third in the Patriot League.
 
Colgate returns to action Saturday, April 4 at the Princeton Invitational.
