Men's Track and Field Finishes Fifth at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. (4/19/09)— The Colgate University men’s track and field team finished fifth with 80 points at Holy Cross Saturday, April 18. The Raiders won two events and placed seven in the top-five.

Holy Cross took first place with 148 points, Bryant claimed second with 105, Central Connecticut placed third with 94, Maine finished fourth with 86.
 
Junior Phil Natoli (Fayetteville, N.Y.) took first in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 54.45, the fifth best time in the Patriot League, while freshman Alex Coco (New Canaan, Conn.) grabbed first in the 110-meter hurdles with a 15.98.
 
Sophomore’s Dan Gleason (Norwalk, Conn.), Jon Knowlton (North Salem, N.Y.), and Ed Boulat (Larchmont, N.Y.) each set a personal recorded finishing second, third and fourth in the 800-meter run with times of 1:55.11, 1:55.30 and 1:55.78, respectively.
 
Junior Jeremy Fischer (Fredericksburg, Va.) also posted a personal-record time of 4:00.94 in the 1,500-meter run for a third place showing.
 
The Raiders will compete in the Penn Relays this week. Action is set to begin on Wednesday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m.
