HAMILTON, N.Y. (4/23/09) -   The Colgate men’s golf team will compete at the Patriot League Golf Championships this Saturday and Sunday at Army’s West Point Golf Course.

The Championship is a two-day, 54-hole event with 36 holes set for Saturday and 18 for Sunday.  Tee-off is set for 8 a.m. on both days.  West Point Golf Course is a par-70 with a par-35 on both the front and back nine.  Six golfers will compete for each team, with the low four scores in each round used for team scoring.  The winning team will receive an automatic bid to one of the three NCAA Regionals, held on the weekend of May 14-16.

The Raiders have placed ahead of both defending champion Navy and preseason favorite Bucknell during this year’s spring competition.  Colgate beat out Bucknell, Navy and Holy Cross at the George Washington Invitational on March 20-21 and placed ahead of Lafayette, Lehigh, Bucknell and Navy.
