CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (4/29/09) - Two members of the Colgate University men’s tennis team earned All-Patriot League honors it was announced by the League office on Wednesday.
Senior Martin MacIntyre (Arlington, Va.) was named to the First Team All-Patriot League, while junior John Nogueras (Parkland, Fla.) earned Second Team honors. It is MacIntyre’s third career All-League selection and his second time on the First Team. Noguearas earned all-league honors for the first time.
MacIntyre led the team at first singles finishing the spring season 13-5 in the top spot. At first doubles, MacIntyre partnered with Nogueras to go 11-10 on the season. Nogueras, who played in both the second and third singles positions during the spring, had an overall singles record of 7-11 and a second singles record of 5-2.
The men’s team reached the semifinals of the Patriot League Championships this season, defeating Holy Cross in first round, 4-0, before falling to Army in the second round.
