Hedges Wins 5K Run at Continental Invitational
HAMILTON, N.Y. (4/5/09)—The Colgate University men’s track and field team successfully competed at the Continental Invitational hosted by Hamilton College and the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton, April 3-4. 

Freshman Tom Hedges (Princeton, N.J.) headlined the Raiders at the Continental Invitational winning the 5,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 15:53.13.

At the Sam Howell Invitational, three Raiders posted top-10 finishes. Sophomore Daniel Gleason (Norwalk, Conn.) took sixth in the 1,500-meter run with a 4:05.48, less the two seconds behind the third place finisher.
 
In the 800-meter run Tim Metivier (Tonawanda, N.Y.) ran a 1:57.72 for 10th place, just two seconds separated four runners from fifth place. Sophomore Gus Hobbs (New Canaan, Conn.) also finished 10th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.80.  
 
The Raiders will continue their outdoor season on April 11, at the Bison Invitational.
