Men's Track and Field Finishes Eighth at Patriot League Championship

WEST POINT, N.Y. (5/2/09)— Colgate University junior Phil Natoli (Fayetteville, N.Y.) finished second in the 400-meter hurdles to lead the men’s tack and field team on the final day of competition at the Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Army. The Raiders finished eighth overall with 17 points.

Natoli who entered the day with the fifth fastest time in 400-meter hurdles set a new personal-record time of 53.85 for the second-place finish. Natoli’s time is the fourth fastest in school history and was just .01 shy of the IC4A qualifying time.
 
Sophomore Ed Sheridan (Phillipsburg, N.J.) posted an IC4A qualifying in the 10,000-meter run good enough for fifth place. Sheridan finished with a time of 31:02.39 over the 6.2 miles.
 
The Raiders 4x800-meter relay team closed the track events with an IC4A qualifying time of 7:39.08, the fourth-place showing collected four points for the team.
 
A selection of runners will continue the season next weekend at the IC4A Championship at Princeton University.
