Cutting Named Colgate Diving Coach

HAMILTON, N.Y.  (8/11/09) – Colgate announced the hiring of Shannon Cutting as its new diving coach, Tuesday afternoon.

She brings four years collegiate diving experience on the NCAA Division I level from Bowling Green State University as well as serving four years as a diving coach at the club level in Westport, Conn. to the program.

Cutting, a 1987 graduate from BGSU, additionally brings a variety of other work experience to the program, including working 10 years in corporate fitness centers and a dozen years as a Chiropractic Physician.  Since November 2008, she has served as the head swim coach for the Hickam Hurricanes in Hawaii.

“We are very excited that Shannon will be joining our program,” said Colgate head swimming coach Stephen Jungbluth. “She possesses more enthusiasm, energy, and passion than just about every coach I’ve ever met.  I’m sure she will channel all of those attributes into results in helping to move our program forward at a very rapid pace.”

Prior to accepting the position with the Hickam Hurricanes, she served as a cross country coach at Campbell High School in Ewa, Hawaii and was an adjunct professor at the University of Guam for a five-month period in early 2008.  She also has several years as a yoga instructor for the military.

Cutting earned her bachelors from BGSU in Sports Management with a specialization in Physical Fitness.  In 1992, she graduated from the Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas in 1992.
