Keith Tyburski Named Interim Men's Golf Coach

HAMILTON, N.Y. (9/11/09) -  The Colgate University athletics department has named Keith Tyburski, a graduate of Western Carolina, the interim head golf coach for the fall season.
 
Upon graduation in 2006 Tyburski, a native of Hamilton, played professionally on various mini circuits across the country. While playing pro, he worked with renowned golf trainer Jack Lumpkin, who has mentored such players as Davis Love III, Jonathan Byrd as well as numerous other PGA Tour pros.
 
During his collegiate career, Tyburski recorded a win at the 2004 Western Carolina Intercollegiate Invitational and placed in the top 10 four times for the Catamounts. He was also named to the all-Southern Conference academic team four times and was the 2005-06 student athlete athletic counsel representative.
 
Tyburski’s parents have both worked for Colgate for several years. Marcelle Tyburski is the director of financial aid and Bob, a ’74 graduate of Colgate is vice president and senior philanthropic advisor.
 
Tyburski is taking the place of Mac Gifford who has been the head coach for the previous two seasons, but is taking a leave of absence for the fall.
