Raiders Finish Fourth at Cornell Upstate Challenge

- The Colgate women's track & field team finished fourth with 29 points at the Cornell Upstate Challenge at Barton Hall on Saturday.

The Raiders scored big in the distance events led by sophomore Kelly Cattano (New Providence, N.J.) who won the 5,000-meter run with a personal-record time of 18:05.50. Cattano’s time is the second best in the Patriot League this season.

Sophomores Chelsea Burns (Seattle, Wash.) and Kendall Lyons (Wilton, Conn.) both posted a personal-record in the mile with the second and third fastest times in the Patriot League. Burns finished third with a time of 5:07.24, while Lyons was ninth with a 5:11.78.

Senior Ashley Niness (Berwyn, Pa.) finished fourth in the 500-meter dash with a PR time of 1:17.91, to headline the sprinting events. Niness’ time is also fourth in the Patriot League this season.

The Raiders will stay home next week as they host the Class of ’32 Invitational Saturday, January 30.
