Colgate Field Hockey Announces Recruiting Class of 2010
Cathy Foto
Head coach Cathy Foto will have seven incoming freshmen on her roster come August.

HAMILTON, N.Y.  (3/5/2010) – Colgate has added seven new members to its field hockey roster, as head coach Cathy Foto announced her 2010 recruiting class, Friday afternoon.

Halle Biggar (Pepper Oak, Ohio/Hathaway Brown School), Meredith Gibson (Short Hills, N.J./Oak Knoll), Paige Hawley (Bellaire, Texas/St. John’s School), Kelsey Jensen (Williston, Vt./Champlain Valley Union), Olivia Nabhan (Rye, N.Y./Rye H.S.), Colleen Oberg (Bethesda, Md./Sidwell Friends School), and Caitlin Zolet (Washington, D.C./Thomas S. Wootton H.S.) all will begin their respective field hockey careers wearing a Raider uniform in August 2010.

“The seven members of the incoming class will add immediate depth to our team,” said Foto, who will embark on her 22nd season at the helm of the program in 2010.  “What they lack in collegiate experience, they will make up for in athletic ability and determination.  They come from all over the country and each has extensive high school and club experience to build from.

“Each one of the members of this class is an accomplished student who will be successful in the classroom,” continued Foto.  “They have been involved in their communities, their schools and are exceptional young women.  These student-athletes will definitely make an impact on Colgate over the next four years.  We are excited to have them become part of the Colgate field hockey family.”

The Raiders, 1-14 in 2009, could return as many as 15 letterwinners for the 2010 season, which gets underway August 28 as they host Robert Morris.
