Lawler Named PL Offensive Player of the Week
Meghan Lawler was named the offensive player of the week for the first time this season.

CENTER VALLEY, PA. (4/19/2010) – Following a career-best eight-point outing at Bucknell Saturday afternoon, Colgate’s Meghan Lawler (Liverpool, N.Y.) has been named the Patriot League’s Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced Monday afternoon.
Lawler led the Raiders to an 18-12 victory over the Bison at Graham Field at Holmes Stadium. The senior tallied three goals and five assists in the victory which bested her former career high seven points set on two occasions, most recently last season versus American. In the victory, she became the all-time career assist leader in Colgate history. With her helper with 20:52 left in the opening half, she bypassed Shari Krasnoo’s former mark of 79. Lawler, who earlier this season set the single-season assist record at Colgate, heads into her final home game of her career with 82 assists.
In addition to her assist records, she became the sixth player in the program’s history to surpass the 200 career point mark versus the Bison. Her 204 points is tied for fifth overall with Angela Chongris and needs four more points to move into fourth. Lawler’s 122 goals rank eighth on the all-time list, only three from moving by Cindy Healey for seventh.
After 15 games, her 71 points on the season is tied for sixth on the single-season list at Colgate. Heading into Saturday’s match-up with league rival Lehigh, Lawler is tied for first nationally with Katie Latonick of Quinnipiac in assists (40) and assists per game (2.67). She also ranks among the top 10 in the nation – tied for fourth in points (71) and tied for sixth in points per game (4.73).
It marks the fourth week a Raider has been honored as the offensive player of the week in 2010.
Courtney Miller (Chappaqua, N.Y.) has twice been bestowed with the honor, while Colleen Bubnack (Syracuse, N.Y.) was named on March 29.
