CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (5/4/10) - The Colgate men’s tennis team placed two members on the All-Patriot League teams, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, May 4. Senior captains Michael Yassky (New York, N.Y.) and John Nogueras (Parkland, Fla.) each earned second-team honors for the Raiders.
The two were first doubles partners during Patriot League play posting a record of 2-3 in league action. The two played at both first and second doubles during the spring season. Nogueras posted an overall doubles record of 6-10 while Yassky went 5-9.
Yassky led the Raiders in singles play at the No. 1 position finishing the season 8-8 overall and 1-4 in league play. Nogueras primarily played in the No. 2 spot tallying a 10-5 record overall and a 3-2 record in conference action.
Patriot League champion Navy, had four players earn All-League honors while runner-up Army placed three players among the first and second-teams. Lehigh’s Troy List earned the Patriot League Player of the Year award.
The Colgate men finished the regular season 9-8 overall and 3-2 in the league. The Raiders earned the No. 4 seed in the Patriot League tournament, falling to Lehigh, 4-1, in their quarterfinal match.
