DeRoo Named to CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team

HAMILTON, N.Y. (6/4/10)—Colgate University sophomore Elise DeRoo (Newtown, Conn.) recently was selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I Women's Cross Country and Track and Field Second Team.
DeRoo is just the second member of the Colgate women's track and field and cross country teams to be honored by CoSIDA for her work in the classroom and out on the course.
The two-time Patriot League Female Scholar Athlete of the Year was also a five-time first-team all-Patriot League honoree in 2009-10. DeRoo won the women’s individual cross country championship last fall while claiming two titles at both the indoor and outdoor track and field championships. She majors in molecular biology and carries a cumulative grade point average of 3.89.
To be selected a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a minimum 3.3 GPA and have competed in half of the team's competitions.
