HAMILTON, N.Y. (7/20/10) – Colgate University Assistant Athletic Director for Medical Services Steve Chouinard has announced the hiring of Karen Roth as an assistant athletic trainer. Roth will serve as the primary trainer for the volleyball and women’s basketball programs as well as share some responsibility with the rowing and track teams.

“We are extremely happy to add someone of Karen’s ability to our staff,” stated Chouinard. “It’s always exciting to add new people. They bring new ideas and techniques to us and everyone benefits. We have no doubt Karen will do the same.”

Roth comes to Colgate from the University of Minnesota where she completed her graduate work and was responsible for the medical coverage of the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams.

Prior to her time at Minnesota, Roth, earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and was involved in a wide variety of men’s and women’s, contact and non-contact sport programs. She also served on the advisory board for the Athletic Training Education Program while at Illinois which enhanced the leadership and organization of the student staff.
