HAMILTON, N.Y. (8/11/10) – The Colgate football team returned to campus on Sunday and already has two practices complete. The Raiders opened camp in sunny conditions at Andy Kerr Stadium Monday, with a two-hour session, then followed Tuesday afternoon in temperatures near 90 degrees.
"I think we have a long way to go," said head coach Dick Biddle. "The kids came back in good shape and are working very hard, but it’s early and we still have a long way to go.”
The Raiders went without pads the first two practices, and will wear upper pads on Wednesday and Thursday.
“We return some decent skill players but our concern right now is the depth at all positions,” said Biddle. “Everyone’s attitude is great and they are working very hard as a close-knit group so it should be fun.”
Colgate’s next three practice sessions are slated to begin at 2:30 p.m. with Friday being the first day of full pads.
